Vance Joseph heads into his second season as Bronco’s Head Coach looking to return the franchise to its former glory. The rest of the AFC West has caught up to the Broncos after a few personnel misfires on offense. Will this be the year they return to playoff contention?
1st Down: Will Case Keenum Work Out?
The Denver Broncos made it no secret that they wanted Kirk Cousins to be their quarterback this season with Von Miller openly lobbying for the former Redskin to sign with them. Cousins decided instead to sign with the Minnesota Vikings creating a marriage of convenience between Denver and former Vikings QB Case Keenum. After bouncing between the Rams and the Texans for the duration of his career, Keenum found new life in Minnesota capping off his impressive season with an incredible touchdown pass to Stefan Diggs for before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champions a round later. Now with Denver, Keenum hopes to recapture that magic and return the Broncos to dominance in the AFC West.
2nd Down: How formidable will Bradley Chubb be with Von Miller?
Since DeMarcus Ware’s retirement in 2016 the Broncos have sought to replace his production next to Von Miller. To say that the future Hall of Famer has been productive throughout his career is an understatement. The Broncos know that to fully maximize Miller’s pass rush ability he needs to have a formidable partner on the other side of him. That’s why they spent their first-round pick on pass rusher Bradley Chubb. If Chubb lives up to his lofty expectations the Broncos could boast the most fearsome pass rushing duo in the league.
3rd Down: Who runs and who blocks?
Last season the Broncos offensive line was one of the team’s weak points. The Broncos need a jump from second-year left tackle Garrett Bolles after he failed to live up to expectations during his rookie season. On the other side of the line, the Broncos brought in Jared Veldheer in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals. Other unheralded players such as guard Connor McGovern could be in line to be starting week one. The Bronco’s leading rusher from a season ago CJ Anderson is now in Carolina leading to a battle between Devontae Booker and rookie Royce Freeman. Broncos fans and fantasy owners are eager to see who gets the nod week one.
4th Down: Can Bradley Roby replace Aqib Talib

Next, to Chris Harris Jr., Aqib Talib was apart of one of the most dominant cornerback tandems in the NFL. Talib was traded to the Rams earlier the season leaving a spot for fifth-year man Bradley Robey to show his worth. The Bronco’s felt that Robey’s development was far enough along to get rid of Talib so this season we’ll see if they were right.
