When you think of hip-hop music hotbeds, cities like Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles are some of the first that come to mind. However, over the years Baltimore, Maryland has began to make a name for itself, behind the success of the likes of Lor Scoota, YBS Skola and YGG Tay. We will be introducing a new segment titled “Charm City Come Up.” The segment will highlight talented artists, producers, designers and other creatives from Baltimore. We will spotlight Baltimore County rapper Ima Stay Humble for our inaugural edition.
ISH released his first project under the Ima Stay Humble stage name, All of Me Vol. 1 in September of last year. The tape featured verses from his close friends Haz2Real and HotBoy Slick. The production on AOMV1 was handled primarily by Jayno and A1 Beam. ISH has shown a knack for beat selection, as it meshes perfectly with his gritty raps. ISH lives by the mantra, “Never let up.” With the pressure applied by his latest singles, it’s clear that he is not letting up anytime soon.
Over the past year, ISH has started to gain more traction in this area, behind his realism and aggressive style of rapping. His singles, “DMV Flow” and “DMV Flow Pt. 2” have helped to present Ima Stay Humble to listeners outside of Baltimore. We are interested to see what else ISH has in store for the remainder of 2019.
